General Dentistry Procedures

Our Hixson dental office is equipped to provide the following procedures to help you achieve and maintain a happy, healthy smile:

  • Crowns & Bridges: Crowns are used to cover damaged, decayed, or cracked teeth. Bridges are used to fill a space left by a tooth that has already fallen out or been extracted.
  • Fillings: If you have a cavity, we can use fillings to restore the teeth back to a healthy and functional condition. We’re use some of the highest quality tooth-colored fillings available that are strong, durable and aesthetic.
  • Dentures: Our office offers both complete and partial dentures. Additionally, we offer fixed dentures that will permanently stay in your mouth and removable dentures that you can remove whenever necessary.
  • Gum Disease Treatment: Periodontal therapy, or the treatment of gum disease, is used to restore diseased tissue back to health. If left untreated, gum disease can spread from the gums to the bone supporting the teeth and even lead to tooth loss. Additionally gum disease impacts a number of overall health conditions.
  • Root Canals: Root canals are used when a tooth is severely decayed or has infected, inflamed, or dead dental pulp. Though root canals tend to have a bad rap, our treatments are virtually painless and prevent pain from dental decay in the future.
  • Tooth Extractions: While we generally try to avoid tooth extraction, but sometimes it's necessary to protect your overall health.
  • Bone Grafting: Bone grafting is used to “build” bone in a patient’s jaw so that dental implants can be placed.
  • TMJ Management & Treatment: Temporomandibular Joint Disorder (commonly known as TMJ, for short) is a condition that includes pain in your jaw joints and/or the muscles that control your jaw movement. We offer services to help patients treat and manage TMJ so that they can live their lives without pain from this condition.
  • Occlusal Guards: Occlusal guards are custom-made to fit to your teeth and protect them from the forces generated while grinding and clenching. Additionally, occlusal guards can help protect the jaw joints from unnecessary forces that may cause deterioration of the bones and articular discs.
  • Prevention: Aside from your routine teeth cleanings twice a year, there are several other treatments we provide that help prevent tooth decay and other dental issues. These include sealants, oral cancer screenings, and more.
  • Fear & Anxiety Management: We understand that going to the dentist can be scary for some of our patients, regardless of their age. We have a number of resources to help these patients relax and have a stress-free experience.
  • Dry Mouth Management: For patients who have consistently dry mouths, our office can help determine what’s causing dry mouth and how to best treat or manage the symptoms.
  • Bad Breath Management: Bad breath, medically known as halitosis, can result from poor dental habits or other health problems. We can identify what may be causing a patient’s chronic bad breath and what the best course of treatment may be.
  • Sensitive Teeth Management: Patients with sensitive teeth know that everyday activities, such brushing your teeth or eating and drinking, can cause immense pain. If you have sensitive teeth, be sure to let us know during your next visit so that we can determine and treat the cause.
